Unit 7. C. Listening. B. Listen to the talk and answer the following questions.
In the past, portable music players were not very popular among people. They weren't popular
because it was very difficult to carry them as they were very big. However, the invention
of the iPod changed people's ideas about portable music players. Yes, the invention of the iPod.
So, what is an iPod? Well, it's a portable music player. When the iPod appeared, people loved it
very much because it was very light. It wasn't as heavy as the old ones. People could carry it
with them and they could listen to their favorite music anywhere. Okay, then, who invented the iPod?
John Rubenstein with his teammates Tony Fiddell and Michael Duy created the Apple iPod in 2001.
They worked very hard for one year and completed the iPod project successfully. Then, the iPod became
very popular. Apple has great success with the iPod because it looks trendy, it works easily, and it
feels cool. Today, the iPod is still so successful that it is really difficult to compete with it.
People trust the Apple company and the Apple iPod, so the iPod is the number one music player in the
music market.
