Turkey is a very rich country in terms of festivals.

Every season of the year welcomes a festival that combines different cultural activities.

There are especially two popular seasons for the festival, spring and summer.

Particularly, the local festivals play an important role in promoting cultural traditions,

local cuisine and agricultural products, most of which are specific to the region that the festival is held.

Here are some of the local festivals in Turkey.

The first one is Kazil -Jahamam culture, art and water festival.

Kazil -Jahamam is famous for its thermal spring water.

That's why water is an indispensable part of the festival.

Every year, there is a festival organized in the last week of August.

There are different events held to celebrate the festival, including oil wrestling, concerts and fashion shows.

The second one is Tekir -dah Cherry Festival.

This festival is one of the long -running festivals which is held in Turkey.

It is organized in June every year.

It is a cultural feast with competitions, lanterns, various exhibitions and shows.

This interesting festival makes Tahir -dah a city that you must visit in June.

Another one is Artven Satave Gerek Festival.

Shavshat, a small town of Artven, has been home to the festival for more than 24 years.

The local people organize different activities every year, like concerts, folk dances, picnics and a variety of shows.

The festival is held in July every year.

The guests have a great time in Shavshat thanks to the gorgeous nature of Shavshat Karagol Lake and a number of mineral water springs.

The next festival is from Diyarbakar.

Every year, Diyarbakar Watermelon Festival is held in this beautiful city.

This is a very colorful and enjoyable event.

During the festival, there are different competitions.

One of the most interesting ones is the biggest watermelon competition.

There are also chefs making their artwork on watermelons.

They make animal figures by carving watermelons.

Watermelon eating contests, voice contests, and watermelon beauty contests are some of the other events at the festival that are enjoyed by many.

The last festival is from the capital city of Turkey.

It's Beipazar Karat Festival.

Beipazar is one of the most popular towns of Ankara.

It is a small town in a rural district famous for its carrots and high -quality natural mineral water.

Beipazar Karat Festival has been celebrated since 1995.

It starts on the first Friday of June and lasts for three days.

During the days of the festival, this cute town comes alive with concerts, competitions, picnics, and so on.

If you go to Beipazar, make sure you do not leave the town without taking a selfie with the giant carrot monument.
