Peter Pan Darlings are living in London with their three children. Wendy is the oldest.

Then comes John and little Michael. They have a dog. Her name is Nana.

Nana's dog house is near the children's room. When the children cry, she always wakes up.

Nana is a treasure for the family. Everybody loves her.

One evening Mrs. Darlings tucks the children into bed and sits by the fire to sew.

Soon she falls asleep. Suddenly the wind blows open.

A small boy in a suit of leaves drops to the floor like a cat.

A strange small light flies beside him. Mrs. Darlings wakes up and looks around the room.

She sees the boy and screams. Down the hall, Nana hears the scream.

She runs into the room and tries to jump on Peter.

But Peter is too quick. He jumps out of the window, but Nana catches his shadow.

Mrs. Darlings screams again. She runs down to the street, but Peter is not there.

She looks up into the sky. She only sees a flash of light.

Mrs. Darlings looks at Nana's mouth.

What is that? It looks like the boy's shadow.

I'm going to keep it. Well, he needs his shadow. He may come back for this.

A few nights later a twinkling light flies into the children's room.

It is a tiny fairy. Her name is Tinkerbell.

Then follows Peter Pan into the room.

Tink, do you know where they put my shadow, whispers Peter Pan?

In the chest of drawers answers Tinkerbell. Her voice sounds like small bells tinkling.

Peter jumps toward the drawers and digs through them. There is his shadow.

He tries to stick it on with a bar of soap. That doesn't work, and Peter starts to cry.

The sound wakes Wendy up.

Boy, she says, who are you? And why are you crying?

I'm Peter Pan. I'm crying because my shadow doesn't stick.

Wendy takes out her needle and thread. She begins to sew his shadow back on.

You are so wonderful, says Peter. Thank you very much.

How old are you, Peter? I don't know. Where do you live?

I live with the lost boys in Neverland. I'm their captain.

How wonderful. You must have lots of fun with them.

Yes, I do, but we don't have any mothers after all. There is no one to tell us bedtime stories.

I know lots of stories, says Wendy.

Why don't you come with me then? You can tell us all of your stories.

Peter takes Wendy by the hand. Come and fly away with me.

What? Peter, I can't fly. I can teach you. Come with me.

Wendy runs to get her brothers up. Wake up, wake up. Peter Pan is going to teach us how to fly.

John and Michael wake up. Then Peter throws some fairy dust on them.

Wiggle your shoulders, he says.

Soon, they all begin to fly to Neverland.

On the island, the lost boys are looking for Peter, and the pirates are looking for the lost boys.

Captain James Hook is the leader of the pirates. He is wearing an iron hook in his right hand.

This is why they call him Captain Hook.

The lost boys are living in a home underground. They are hiding from the pirates.

The underground home is a large room. Mushrooms are growing out of the floors for stools.

It is the best home in the whole world.

Wendy likes the lost boys. He looks after them like a mother. She cooks and cleans all day long.

At nights, she spends hours telling them stories, and the lost boys love her stories.

Sometimes, Wendy thinks of her home and her parents, but John and Michael don't remember their parents very well.

One night, the lost boys ask for Wendy for her favorite story. Wendy begins to tell.

This is the story of darlings. They have three children and a good dog called Nana, she says.

I think I know them, says John.

One day, the children fly to Neverland. They are very happy in Neverland.

But their parents miss them very much. Their mother always leaves the window open.

She wishes her children to come back one night.

Wendy cries John. I want to go home. I miss my dad and mom.

Me too, says Wendy. Let's go, right now.

The boys look sad. They don't want to lose their mother. Please don't go, they say.

Why don't you come with us? Wendy asks. My mother and father will love you.

Can we, Peter? Ask the boys.

Peter looks at the boys. They all want to go with Wendy. He is angry and sad.

You can go, but I'm not coming with you. I don't want to grow up. I want to stay a little boy and have fun forever, he says, and leaves the underground home.

He goes through the forest.

After a few hours, the ground above the underground home shakes.

The pirates and the Indians are fighting, say the boys to Wendy.

Captain Hook listens to the sounds from below. He hears them talking.

The Indians always beat their Tom Tom's when they win. One of the boys says,

Do you hear anything? Hook whispers to one of his men. The man picks a Tom Tom and begins to drum.

The children cheer happily. They think it is safe to go up.

One by one the boys come up and the pirates easily catch them.

They carry them to the pirates ship. Tinkerbell flies through the forest to find Peter.

She finds Peter sleeping on a tree branch. She wakes Peter up and tells him everything.

Peter makes a plan. Captain Hook knows that I can fly. He won't expect me coming from the sea, he thinks.

He swims to the pirates ship and climbs onto the roof of the cabin.

He waits for the pirates to sleep. Then he jumps down next to Captain Hook.

Aha, shouts Captain Hook. He pulls out his sword. It's you, foolish boy. Prepare to die.

Peter Pan pulls out his sword as well. He is a master with the sword. They fight for a long time.

Captain Hook tries to stab Peter many times, but he can't.

Finally, he loses his balance and falls out of the boat. Unfortunately for Hook, a hungry crocodile is waiting for him in the sea.

And that is the end of Captain Hook.

Wendy, John, and Michael wake up in their bedroom. Their mother is beside them.

She is looking at them with loving eyes.

You are going to be late to school, Wendy, she says. Breakfast is ready.

John and Michael don't remember anything about Neverland.

Wendy begins to think that Neverland is only a dream.
