Unit 8. Chores.

Shall we magazine?

Share the housework, share the happiness.

Hello, my name is Mary. I'm an English teacher at a secondary school and I have a very busy life.

I live in Istanbul with my husband, Martin, my daughters, Lily and Linda, and my son, Bruce.

We are a happy family because we always share the chores in our house.

Everybody has different responsibilities and I make a chart of our duties.

I'm responsible for preparing the meals and doing the laundry.

I also do the ironing on Sundays, vacuuming the carpets as Linda's responsibility.

She also loads and empties the dishwasher every day.

Lily is in charge of mopping the floors, cleaning the bathroom and setting the table.

Martin takes the children to school.

He is also responsible for washing the car and doing the shopping.

It's Bruce's duty to take out the garbage every day.

He also tidies his own room and feeds the cat.

He does some easy chores because he is only ten years old.

I think it's necessary to share the chores at home because it makes our lives easier.

We must always help and respect each other for a happier life.

Sharing the chores also teaches children to be responsible.

I want to teach my children the importance of sharing the duties at home.
