Dear Emily, how's it going?

I'm fine and I'm having a very busy weekend at home.

You know last week I came first in the National Mathematics Competition.

Can you believe it?

Well, my parents are planning a big party to celebrate.

All my relations are already here and we're expecting my friends to arrive very soon.

We are all making preparations for the party.

My mum, Janet, is cooking some delicious dishes in the kitchen and my aunt Lucy is helping her.

And of course Rocky, our little white dog, is here too.

He's waiting for something to eat.

My dad, Steve and my uncle Sam are in the garden.

Dad is cleaning the veranda and my uncle is getting a barbecue ready for tonight.

Grandma and grandpa are having a nap on the sofa in the living room.

They aren't doing anything.

After all, the younger generation must do the jobs now.

My sister Bella and my brother Dave are coming back from the supermarket with my funny cousin Pete.

They're carrying bags with cartons of juice, bottles of cola, fruit, vegetables and some snacks

like crisps, nuts and popcorn.

And what about me?

Well, I'm having a lot of fun.

I'm taking selfie photos with everyone and lending a hand when they ask me.
