read the texts about Mustafakimal Atatuk and do the following exercises.

Atatuk, a great leader and commander, one, birthplace and birthday.

Mustafakimal Atatuk was born in Salunika in 1881,

one, we don't know the exact date of his birth,

but we accept his birthday as 19th May 1881,

because it is the day he went to samsum.

Two, Atatuk's family.

His father's name was Aliraziah Fandi,

and his mother's name was Zubaydahannam.

They had six children.

Their names were Fatma, Ahmet, Amat,

Kamal, Makbule and Najee.

Unfortunately, Fatma, Ahmet, Amat and Najee died when they were little.

Atatuk got married to Latifah Ushaklu on 29th January 1923,

Three, Atatuk's childhood and education.

Mustafakimal grew up in Salunika.

His father sent him to Shemsia Fandi School.

He was a smart and hardworking student,

and all his teachers loved him.

He was very good at maths.

He was also interested in history,

and he always wanted to be a commander.

He went to military school to make his dream come true.

He also learned French there.

Four, Atatuk as a great warrior.

Atatuk was a great soldier and commander.

He fought against enemies in different parts of the world.

On 30th August 1922, he won a great victory.

He defeated the Greek army and saved our country.

Five, a new Turkey, a new Turkey.

After the war, our country was very poor.

There weren't any big factories in the country.

There were serious problems with the economy, health and education.

Less than 10 % of the Turkish people could read and write.

So, Mustafakimalatatuk and his friends worked very hard

to found a modern and strong country.

Six, Atatuk's death.

Mustafakimalatatuk had a very difficult life.

He spent 13 years fighting in wars.

In 1937, he became very ill,

but he didn't stop working for the country.

He traveled to many cities in Turkey, even when he was ill.

On 8th November 1938, his illness became more serious.

At 5 past 9, on 10 November 1938, he died.

At 9 .05, on 10 November 1938, he died.

All the Turkish people cried after him.
