Page. 64. Super abilities all around the world.
Read the texts and do the exercises B, C and D.
All around the world, there are a lot of incredible people.
Their abilities are different from other peoples.
Here are a few examples of those people.
1. Resistant to cold.
Humans can't survive for long without food or water,
or on Mount Everest in just a pair of shorts,
but Dutchman Wim Hof can tolerate extremely cold weather.
He always tries to climb Mount Everest without wearing anything except a pair of shorts and sandals.
He can't reach the top, but he can survive in temperatures like minus 60 degrees Celsius.
2. Magnetic Man.
Liu Thao Lin of Zimbabwe, better known as Magnetoman, discovers his superpower at the age of 60.
He can stick any metal object to his skin from silver to any kind of metal.
With the help of this ability, he can pull a 1 .5 ton car with just a metal plate on his stomach.
3. Animal Whisperer.
The lions are the best friends of Kevin Richard, and he can talk to them like they are his friends.
I think lions can also understand him because they do whatever he says.
His ability is not limited to lions.
He can also talk to some other animals like snakes and giraffes.
4. Super -eating.
Do you like eating?
Michael Lotito's ability is about eating, but it isn't what you may think.
He can eat anything in the world.
He can eat metal, glass, rubber, etc.
He is known as Mr. Eat -All.
He cuts bicycles, shopping carts and many other objects and eats them,
but I think he can't eat like that in his old age.
We'll see.
5. Perfect Visual Memory.
Stephen Wiltshire is a British artist, and he has almost perfect memory of what he sees.
He flies over a city for a very short time, and he can draw the whole city map.
He can remember almost every detail.
For example, he can draw the map of New York City easily after a 10 minute helicopter tour
over the city.
6. Long -time Runner.
Dean Carnazess is famous for running 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days.
He can also run 350 miles non -stop on a treadmill for over 80 hours.
He is capable of running at 7 to 10 miles per hour almost indefinitely.
He never gets tired.
He doesn't need any water during such long and time consuming activities.
