The History of the Automobile

The history of the automobile starts with the first designs for a motor vehicle

that were drawn by Leonardo da Vinci, 1487, and Isaac Newton, 1687.

However, some say that it begins with the 65 cm long steam -powered toy car

that a Dutch priest made for the Chinese emperor in 1672.

In 1769, French engineer Nicolas -Joseph Cunio invented the very first self -propelled vehicle,

which was powered by a steam engine.

The French army used this vehicle to carry heavy guns.

The following year, Cunio built a steam -powered tricycle that carried four passengers.

Between 1832 and 1839, different inventors built vehicles with electrical engines.

However, it was the German engineer's Daimler and Karl Benz,

who invented the first gasoline -powered vehicles, which started the age of modern automobiles in 1886.

In 1885, Daimler invented the prototype of the modern gas -gasoline engine

and initially used it in a two -wheeled vehicle.

A year later, he built the first four -wheeled motor vehicle.

However, in 1886, it was Karl Benz, who received the first patent for a three -wheeled gas -fueled car,

and therefore, he is known as the inventor of the modern car.

Benz built his first four -wheeled car in 1891 and set up a company that made and sold cars.

Later, in 1903, American car manufacturer Henry Ford established the Ford Motor Company.

He introduced the Model T in 1908, which was a big success.

In 1913, Ford modified the moving assembly line and used it in his factory in order to mass -produce cars.

As a result, Ford Motor Company became the world's biggest automobile manufacturer of the 20th century.
