Beauty and the Beast

A poor farmer lives on a small farm with his three daughters

Gertrude, Ursula and Beauty

Gertrude and Ursula are lazy

They like sleeping all day

Beauty is kind and hard -working

She likes reading books and playing the piano

One day the farmer says to his daughters

We have got a lot of fruit on the farm

I can go to the town and I can sell them at the market

What do you want from the town?

I want a new dress and new shoes

says Ursula

I want a necklace and earrings

says Gertrude

Beauty is quiet

The man looks at her and asks

What do you want Beauty?

I only want a pink rose father

and come back home safely

She says

The next day the farmer gets up early

and leaves home

He goes to the market

He sells the fruit but he hasn't got much money

He can only buy socks for his daughters

On his way home he sees a big castle

There are a lot of flowers in its garden

The farmer stops and picks a pink rose for beauty

Then he hears a terrible sound

He turns back and sees it

It has the voice of a man but a body of a great wild beast

Give it back

You are taking a rose for my garden

You are a thief

Shouts the beast

He is very angry

I'm not a thief

This rose is for my daughter

Beauty loves roses

Please forgive me

Don't hurt me

The farmer says

He is very scared

I can let you go

Says the beast

But you must bring beauty to me

I want to meet a girl with a good heart

Now take the rose to beauty

and bring her to the castle

You have got only one week

The farmer leaves the castle

and goes back home

He gives the rose to beauty

Then he tells beauty about the beast

Beauty is surprised

She says

I love you more than anything Daddy

You are in danger

I want to go to the castle

I must do this for you

A week later

Beauty and her father meet the beast

Beauty thinks

I'm not afraid of the beast

He is ugly

But he is very kind

The beast gives a bedroom to beauty

There is a nice bed

A silver mirror

And a piano in the bedroom

There are a lot of books too

Beauty is happy

She starts reading one of them

Then she falls asleep

That night

Beauty sees a young prince in her dream

Beauty please find me

I'm very sad

He says

But how can I help you

Ask beauty

Listen to your heart

Answer the prince

Beauty wakes up

and looks for the prince in the castle

But she can't find him

The beast is very kind to beauty

He prepares food for her every day

They dance and have fun together

Beauty plays the piano

and reads books to the beast

Every night

She likes the beast

One day the beast asks

Are you happy here beauty?

Yes I am

Says beauty

Everything is lovely here

Thank you

Then the beast

holds her hands and says

I love you beauty

Do you love me too?

Will you marry me?

Beauty is surprised

I'm sorry beast

She says you are kind

But I don't love you

I don't want to marry you

The beast is sad

He doesn't say anything

and goes to his room

That night

Beauty has a dream

about the prince again

In her dream

the prince cries

I'm very sad

Please save me

He says

Beauty wakes up

and looks for the prince in the castle

again but she can't find him

She comes back to her bedroom

She looks in the mirror

and she sees her father

He is in bed

He is very ill

Beauty starts to cry

The beast sees her crying and asks

What's the matter?

Beauty says

My father is very ill

I want to see him

Don't worry

says the beast

You can go and see him tomorrow

But you can only stay there for one week

Okay says beauty

Thank you

The beast gives a golden ring to beauty

He says

It's a magic ring

Put the ring on your finger

and turn it three times

It can take you back to the castle

The next day

Beauty goes to the farm

She looks after her father

After a few days

her father gets better

Beauty stays there

more than a week

One night

she sees the beast in her dream

He is very ill

He says

Come back please

I need you beauty

Beauty gets up early in the morning

She is very sad

She says to her father

The beast is kind to me

I must go now

She hugs her father

Then she puts the ring on her finger

and turns it three times

She closes her eyes

and she wakes up in the castle

The castle is very dark

Where are you beast?

She shouts

She runs to the garden

and she sees the beast

lying on the grass

Beauty says

Oh no

Do you hear me?

Beast, please open your eyes

I love you

I want to marry you

She cries and her tears drop

on the beast's face

The beast opens his eyes

Oh beast, can you hear me?

Asks Beauty

The beast looks at Beauty

and asks slowly

Beauty

Do you love me?

Yes, I do

She says happily

and the beast turns

into a prince

He is the prince

Beauty sees in her dreams

The next day

Beauty and the prince

have a wedding party in the castle

Beauty's father and sisters

are there too

Beauty and the prince get married

and everybody is very happy

The prince and princess beauty

have three children

and they live happily ever after
