How to Avoid Home Accidents
Our houses seem like the safest place for us, but when we do not pay enough attention,
they can be very dangerous. Many people get hurt every year because of home accidents,
like trips and falls, cuts or burns. We should learn some rules to protect ourselves from home accidents.
First, if there are children at home, keep the knives and scissors away from them because they can cut themselves.
In addition, children must not be able to reach matches and lighters or electrical tools because they can hurt themselves or start a fire.
The drugs and medicines are also dangerous for the kids. Put your first aid, kit and pills on a high shelf away from the children.
Second, do not dry or close by the fire. Put the candles and heaters away from the curtains.
Home fires generally start at the kitchen, so be careful with the cookers and ovens.
Do not touch the plug sockets with wet hands or you can catch an electric shock.
Finally, do not leave the toys or small items on the floor. Also, do not walk on the wet or slippery floor.
You can fall down and hurt yourself. If you are climbing on ladders, make sure that they are strong enough.
Falling can be very dangerous, especially if you are alone at home.
