exercises. 7 continents of the world. Asia is the world's biggest continent on earth.

60 % of the world population lives in Asia. It covers 30 % of the earth's land area.

On the east, the Pacific Ocean, on the south, the Indian Ocean, and on the north,

the Arctic Ocean surround Asia. The second largest continent is Africa. It has a

population of one billion. Africa is located on the equator and there are a

lot of climate changes in this area, so the temperature is different in different regions.

The Mediterranean Sea is on its north, the Indian Ocean is on its southeast, and the

Atlantic Ocean is on the west. Humans first originated in Africa. In other words, the

first person was born on this continent, and the first civilization started here.

North America is the third biggest continent. Its population was around 579

million people in 2016. The Arctic Ocean is on its north, and the Atlantic Ocean is on its east.

On the south, the Pacific Ocean surrounds North America. The fourth largest continent is South

America. It includes 12 countries. Also, the world's biggest waterfall, the longest

mountain range, the largest rainforest, and many other geographical wonders are all on

this continent. Antarctica has the fifth largest area. About 90 % of its land is ice.

People do not live on this continent, but there are a few thousands of people in the

Antarctica. Temperatures can be minus 89 degrees Celsius. The penguin species live here.

The sixth largest continent, Europe, has the third biggest population. Around 750 million

people live in Europe. The Arctic Ocean on the north and the Atlantic Ocean on the west

surround this continent. Australia is the smallest continent on Earth. It is an island in the

middle of the oceans, and it has a small population.
