Janan Dadeviran. Janan Dadeviran was born on the 4th of May 1985 in Istanbul, Turkey.
She is the oldest child in her family and has two younger brothers. When she was five
years old, she became fascinated by physics after reading a book about Marie Curie, a gift
Janan obtained her BSc in physics from Hadettepe University in Ankara, won a full scholarship
for her MSc at Sebastian University in Istanbul, and then completed her PhD at the University
of Illinois, USA. She now works at the Cork Institute for Cancer Research in the USA. During
Janan invented a flexible electronic device for heart patients, which they can wear on
their skin or even inside their body. With over 30 important awards, Janan is truly a
young scientist who is changing the world. Her future career goals are to invent more
devices to help people with other serious illnesses, and also to inspire new young generations
of inventors to follow in her footsteps. If only more people were like her.
