Communication technology developed much faster in the 19th century.

Samuel Morse's invention of the telegraph in 1837 made it possible to send messages across the Atlantic.

Meanwhile, a Scott, Alexander Bain, invented the first fax machine in 1843.

And another Scott, Alexander Graham Bell, invented the telephone in 1876.

Moving into the 20th century, communication technology continued to develop fast,

with the invention of the radio and television.

At the same time, telephones became common in people's homes,

and the first mobile phone appeared in 1973.

Then, in the 1980s, Tim Berners -Lee's creation of the World Wide Web marked the beginning of modern Internet.
