Track 9 .7, Speaker A.

My hero is Lauren Cornack, a 22 -year -old young lady.

One day she found her father, Alec, 52, stuck beneath his car in their garage.

She knew that she had to act fast.

She lifted the 900 -kilogram car off his body and pulled him out from underneath.

Even she herself didn't know that she had superhuman powers.

She was a trained lifeguard.

She immediately performed CPR in order to get her father's heart beating again.

Though he suffered broken ribs and some minor wounds,

Alec suffered no serious physical damage thanks to Lauren's amazing strength.

Speaker B.

My hero is Chris Knafelk.

He was waiting for a train at a subway station when he saw a man calmly step off the edge of the platform.

Fell and land just a few inches from the high voltage rails.

Knafelk immediately jumped onto the tracks to save the man before it was too late.

He knew that a train would arrive any minute,

so he told bystanders on the platform to inform a subway worker.

Thankfully, the subway workers had enough time to prevent the train from passing through the station.

Knafelk remained on the tracks at the man's side until firefighters came to rescue him 11 minutes later.

Speaker C.

My hero is a New Mexico resident, Rhonda Carlson.

She made headlines when she successfully stopped a runaway school bus full of children.

Carlson's daughter noticed something wrong with the driver while waiting for a school bus and shouted for help.

Carlson said she ran along the bus trying to open the doors.

Finally, she instructed a child on the bus to pull the lever that opens the door.

Then she hopped on the bus and slammed on the brakes and saved the lives of many students on the bus.

Speaker D.

My hero is Joseph Welsh.

He was preparing for a canoe trip with his six -year -old son Joey when the little boy fell into the water.

Welsh watched as a large alligator took the boy in its big mouth.

He was horrified and jumped in the water and hit the animal several times.

The alligator left after a few seconds and the man was able to carry his son ashore.

He took his son to the hospital and the doctor said it was a miracle because his arm was still intact.

Thankfully, the boy suffered no serious injuries and made a full recovery thanks to his father's bravery.
