Tigers are the biggest cats in the world. They are 335 centimeters in length and can weigh up to 297 kilos.
There are only 7 ,400 tigers left in the wild. They are endangered animals.
Their long tail helps them keep their balance and they can use it for communication.
Tigers have large paws and sharp claws. They use them for killing prey and for fighting with other tigers.
Tigers usually eat large mammals like wild boars and deer.
They can also attack and kill a python, crocodile and even a bear.
A tiger can eat 5 kilos of meat a day. They are excellent swimmers.
They can swim 4 miles with prey in their mouth.
A female tiger is called a tigeris. At the age of 3, a tigeris is ready to become a mother for the first time.
She usually has 3 -4 cubs and they give birth once a year.
They can run 35 to 40 miles per hour. They are good jumpers as well.
They can leap a distance of up to 10 meters.
Tigers can survive 10 to 15 years in the wild and around 20 in captivity.
