He practiced a lot, and when he felt confident enough, he arranged a demonstration.

He climbed the Galata Tower, jumped off, and flew across the Bosporus,

with the help of the southwest wind. He landed successfully at Uskudar, on the other side,

and immediately became a huge celebrity. Even the Sultan Murad IV was watching from his palace

when this event took place, and he was amazed. He wanted to award the aviator 1 ,000 gold pieces,

but the palace advisors were angry and jealous because of his Arphin's success.

So they made the Sultan change his mind and sent him away to Algeria.

This made his Arphin very sad, and he died there two years later. He was only 31 years old.

His Arphin Ahmad Jalebi is a legendary figure in Turkish history. His life and work are great

examples for everyone to follow. His Arphin Airport, one of the three airports in Istanbul,

is a reminder that dreams do not die.
