Little Red Riding Hood

In a house, near the forest, there lives a happy couple with their little daughter.

Everyone in the village calls this little girl, Little Red Riding Hood, because she always wears a red cloak.

One morning, Little Red Riding Hood's mother says, your grandmother is ill.

Can you take these cookies to her please?

If she eats them, she may feel better.

Answers Little Red Riding Hood.

She puts on her cloak and takes the basket of cookies.

She doesn't see the wolf behind the tree.

Hello, little girl, says the wolf.

What are you doing here?

Little Red Riding Hood is surprised to see a wolf.

I'm going to visit my grandmother.

She is ill, she says.

The wolf has got a big smile on his face.

Where is your grandmother's house?

He asks, curiously.

It's near the windmill, answers Little Red Riding Hood.

She points at the windmill on the hill.

That's very nice.

Good luck, says the wolf.

Then, he walks away.

The wolf immediately goes to the grandmother's house and knocks on the door, asks the grandmother.

I'm Little Red Riding Hood.

Can I come in, grandma?

Says the wolf, softly.

He imitates her granddaughter's voice.

Come in!

Says the grandmother.

The wolf gets in the house.

The grandmother is in her bed.

When she sees the wolf, she screams.

But nobody is there for help.

The wolf opens its big mouth and swallows the old woman in one gulp.

Then, he puts on the grandmother's clothes.

He gets into the bed and waits for Little Red Riding Hood.

After a short time, Little Red Riding Hood knocks on the door.

The wolf gets excited.

Who is that?

He calls.

I'm Little Red Riding Hood, grandma.

I have got some cookies for you. Can I come in?

Asks the little girl.

Yes, of course.

Answers the wolf.

The wolf hides under the blanket.

Little Red Riding Hood gets in the house.

She goes near the bed and looks at the wolf.

She is surprised.

What big ears you have, grandma?

She says.

All the better to hear you with.

Replies the wolf.

What a big nose you have, grandma.

She says.

All the better to smell you with.

Replies the wolf.

What big eyes you have, grandma?

She says.

All the better to see you with.

Replies the wolf.

What big teeth you have, grandma?

She says.

All the better to eat you with.

Roars the wolf and he suddenly jumps out of the bed.

The little girl is so frightened because the hungry wolf tries to catch her.

She runs across the room.

Help!

She shouts as loudly as she can.

A young woodcutter is chomping wood nearby.

He hears the scream and runs towards the grandmother's house as fast as he can.

He gets in the house and hits the wolf on the head.

The wolf faints.

Then he opens the wolf's mouth and the grandmother jumps out.

The woodcutter saves the grandmother and little Red Riding Hood from the wolf.

He carries the wolf into the forest.

Little Red Riding Hood hugs her grandmother.

I'm so scared, she cries.

I'm happy to see that you are fine.

I will never talk to strangers again.

I promise.

This is an important lesson for you.

Says the grandmother.

Always listen to your mother.

Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother have a nice lunch and a long chat together.

They never see the wolf again.
