Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Cultures Through the Centuries. Today, we
are travelling back in time and we are going to learn about one of the most important empires
of the ancient world, the Roman Empire. The ancient Romans created one of the largest
and richest empires in history. The Roman Empire was at its peak between the 3rd century BCE
and the 5th century CE. According to historical evidence, it stretched for almost 5 million
square kilometres around its centre, Rome. Julius Caesar was one of its greatest emperors
as he managed to make the Roman Empire even bigger. Apart from their economy, the Romans
