Dear Gary, I can understand how you feel.
I know what it's like to be a teenager
and get angry when someone tells you what to do all the time.
Also, I realize it is difficult to help around the house
when you have to study for school
and do other activities during the week.
But the truth is that household chores
can be really tiring for your parents,
so you should help them when you have some free time.
I think that you should discuss the problem with your mum
and plan a weekly schedule for the chores
each person in the family has to do.
As for your room,
promise her that you will tidy it once a week,
but she should let you decide which day.
This way, you'll show her that you are responsible,
but at the same time, you will be in control
of your own place in the house.
I hope this advice helps.
Good luck!
