Fred and Anna are talking about the chores and responsibilities in their homes. Read and
listen to their conversation.
I can't go out on Sunday afternoon. I must stay at home and take care of my little brother.
I must stay at home all day on Sunday too. I must help Mom to clean the house. I'm responsible
for dusting the furniture and Mom vacuums the carpets and mops the floors. She does the laundry
on Saturdays. On Sundays it is my job to iron the clothes. Luckily I don't have to do much
housework. I just help Dad wash the car and sweep the leaves in the garden. I must make my bed
and tidy up my desk of course. I'm responsible for taking out the garbage too. In our house
everyone must do some chores because my mother is very busy at work. For example, I set the
table every evening while she is cooking dinner. My dad often cooks with her. He always makes the
salad. I must tidy up the kitchen and load the dishwasher. What chores does your brother have to do?
Tom is in charge of taking the dog for a walk and watering the flowers and plants in our garden.
Does he also do the shopping? No, it's my dad's responsibility. He must go shopping every Sunday,
but he enjoys it. Everyone in your family is always very busy.
