Track two. Read and listen to the texts.

How to deal with bullies.

A. Some children bullied me when I was a child. It was very bad.

I was afraid to go to school. I didn't feel safe at break time.

Bullies were everywhere. In the corridors, in the schoolyard, etc.

I hated school because of them. I lost my self -confidence.

It affected me both physically and emotionally. B.

For some bullies, bullying is a way of being popular or cool.

They want to attract attention. They want all people to know them because they feel important and strong.

Some bullies have problems with their families at home.

They are always angry with the people around them because they do what they see at home.

C. Imagine somebody is bullying you and you cannot deal with the bully.

He is becoming more and more dangerous each time.

When this happens, you should talk to an adult, your teacher, or your parents.

Tell them what is happening. Stop the bully before he hurts you very badly.

D. The victims of bullies are usually weaker and younger people.

They usually have something different in their physical appearance, such as freckles, red hair, eyeglasses, or dental braces.

Sometimes bullies choose newcomers because they are an easier target for them.

It is easy to bully young and weak people and newcomers. E.

When someone bullies you, don't show your feelings, your fear or anger.

Don't say anything and don't cry. Just stay away from the bully.

Your crying makes the bully happy. Be brave. This stops the bully.

Don't be alone. Always have a friend with you.

When you are alone, you are an easy victim for the bullies.

Don't go to school by yourself and don't spend time alone at break time.
