1. Dear Andy, I was at a party with a friend the other night. While we were dancing and
having a good time, I saw my best friend with some other people dancing and singing songs.
I learned about the party just before dinner, but I guess she knew about it for a while
and chose not to tell me. Anyway, she saw me too, but she simply waved at me and kept
dancing. It was strange, but both of us continued to do what we were doing. We still talk,
but I am not sure anymore if we are true friends or not. Wondering how?
1. Dear Andy, my sister has just announced her engagement to Dennis, one of my classmates.
I love them both a lot, but I think I was not prepared for my sister's early marriage plans.
Now, I am afraid of losing her friendship. We are really close and very good friends.
We talk about everything. We tell each other our secrets, and we always keep them and so on.
I don't know whether it is illogical, but I guess I am jealous of her. I don't know what to do
when she is gone. Jealous girl.
A. In times of disagreement with your loved ones, such behaviors are normal. You should
have never behaved like that when you ended your friendship with your best friend. Sometimes,
things get complicated, but they somehow get sorted out as time passes. However, when you
I hope you will overcome your problems in the near future. Advisor Andy.
B. Being good friends with your siblings is not an easy thing to achieve. You are lucky
that you managed to do that. When you first learned about their engagement, you might
have thought about it a lot, and the possibility of losing her must have made you feel more
sometime to relax. How you feel right now is quite normal. When the right time comes,
however, we cannot stop the change. You should have been happier as she didn't get engaged
to a stranger but your classmate. Advisor Andy.
C. Although it seems weird at first, such things are normal in our daily life and relationships.
C. Okay, I admit that she could have told you about the party, and you apparently think
that she should have done so, but don't forget that this is not an obligation. You could
also have chosen not to mention such a plan of yours to her. Besides, you could have phoned
and asked her as soon as you learned about the party, but as far as I understand, you didn't.
Then, accept that this is not a mistake. In my opinion, you shouldn't even have thought
that she did something wrong. Advisor Andy.
