Hercule Poirot is a Belgian detective in Agatha Christie's mystery stories.

He appears in 33 novels, one play, and more than 50 short stories.

We don't know exactly when Hercule Poirot was born, but most probably his birth date was in the early 1870s.

He started working for the Belgian police in 1893, and in 1910 he became their chief.

But in 1916, during the First World War, Poirot left Belgium and moved to England.

He worked as a detective in London from 1920 to 1932.

Hercule Poirot used logic and the techniques of an expert detective to solve mysteries.

He visited crime scenes, looked for evidence, and then he questioned suspects.

He retired in 1946 and died some years later, in the early 1950s, after solving his last case.
