Children's Day

Hello. I am Diniz. I am 12 years old. I am from Turkey.

I am very excited today because it is the 23rd of April.

We celebrate National Sovereignty and Children's Day today.

It's our National Festival.

It is a present from Mustafa Kemite Ataturk to all the children in the world.

We decorate our schools and classrooms and hang Turkish flags.

We read poems, dance and perform folk dances.

A lot of children come from different countries to celebrate this festival with us.

They walk at the parade and perform their traditional dances.

We have fun together.

Hello. I am Sheena. I am 11 years old. I come from America.

I am in Turkey today because it is National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

We celebrate the day together with Turkish children.

Now, we are walking at the parade. We are singing and dancing together. It is really fun.

I am very happy. I express my thanks to the Turkish leader Mustafa Kemite Ataturk

and to all Turkish people.
