Guinness World Record in Piercing

Elaine Davidson of Scotland had her first piercing in 1997.

Now, with more than 9 ,000 piercings, she holds the Guinness World Record for having the most body piercings in the world.

She is 51 years old now and has more piercings than Rolf Buchholz, the world's most pierced man.

This German man has 453 piercings on his body.

Elaine set the record in May 2000, when Guinness World Records experts examined her.

They found 462 piercings on her body.

192 of them were on her head and face.

They examined her again in August 2001, and she had 720 piercings.

In 2005, British Daily Newspapers reported that she had 3 ,950 piercings.

I don't enjoy piercing, but I wanted to break a record, she said, to the newspaper reporters.

In 2009, the number of piercings went up to 6 ,005.

Davidson was born in Brazil.

She worked as a nurse there for many years.

Now, she lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.

She owns a beauty salon for tattoo work, body piercing, aroma therapy, and hair braiding.

In 2011, Davidson married a retired man with no piercings or tattoos.

She had 6 ,925 piercings at that time.

The couple's marriage didn't last long because they didn't get on, so they divorced in 2012.

Davidson is replacing her jewelry all the time.

She is also adding more tattoos.

She always wears makeup with bright colors.

She also wears colorful feathers in her hair.

She says she never takes out the rings and studs on her body.

They weigh around 3 kilos, but they give her no pain or problems.

She sleeps on a bed of nails.

She can walk on fire and broken glass, too.
