Rules during an earthquake. You are inside a building.
Stay where you are until the shaking stops. Do not run outside.
Do not stand in the doorway because it is not safe.
Drop down onto your hands and knees so the earthquake doesn't knock you down.
Drop to the ground before the earthquake drops you.
Cover your head and neck with your arms to protect yourself from falling objects.
Take cover under a strong desk or table. Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls.
You are outside.
Move away from buildings and streetlights. Find an open area.
Drop, cover and hold on. Stay there until the shaking stops.
Stay away from falling bricks and walls. You are driving.
Stop immediately and stay in the vehicle.
Stay away from buildings, trees and bridges.
After the earthquake, drive very slowly and carefully.
Be careful about the damaged roads and bridges.
