Nowadays, communicating with anyone, anywhere, at any time, has become so easy that we take

it for granted.

But let's take a look at how communication technology has evolved over the centuries.

The first means of communication was of course the human voice.

But in 3 ,300 BCE in Iraq, people invented writing.

Soon after, it appeared in Egypt and in about 1 ,500 BCE in China.

The next big step was the invention of the alphabet in the Middle East in about 1 ,600 BCE.

Over 1 ,000 years later, the Chinese invented paper.

And as a result, it became easier to share information.

Almost 2 ,000 years later, the invention of printing was another important breakthrough

for sharing news and knowledge.

Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1450 CE.

This made book production much cheaper.

It also led to the introduction of newspapers.
